@FR77: If I had to do it over, I'd probably use clear paints. I did get a good deal on a spare one a couple years later, but I'm not going to touch that one!

The dye was just RIT fabric dye---cheap and probably available at any grocery/drugstore. I had a pot of red, and a pot of black (to get different shades with the black dye, I just kept the weapon pieces in for a lot less time than the larger ones). For the eyes and gunner canopy I was just lazy and stole some parts from a normal Red Horn.

I'm not sure how safe a procedure this is, because about a year after making this, I started to notice the color fading---the red's almost orange now :( Clear paint's probably the way to go.

Now that's what I call a Holotech custom!

What type of dyes did you use? Did you have different dyes for each colour or did you throw all the pieces into the same pot? And how long did you leave the pieces in the pot for before they got 'holoteched'?

Of course, if the procedure is more risky than it's worth, I'll stick to painting holotech zoids with clear paint like I did my Sabre Tiger, which is a pity, considering that I wouldn't mind trying out this technique on an NJR König Wolf. :3
