2006. This was a slightly disappointing line, especially coupled with the lack of motorized releases, so this will be a small page. They use a new, improved “blox” system that is better articulated, and less blocky. Sadly, the Neo Blox kits all look incredibly skinny. Also unfortunate is the excessive repackaging/recoloring of the few basic kits. The Legend Blox part of the line is more interesting: mini articulated versions of classic models.
Is it sacrilege that I like the Neoblox Gojulas more than the model kit one, especially this MK-II? The Neo seems a lot less stiff and clunky. The box seems to show an NJR orange cockpit, but the actual kit is OJR smoke. Maybe it’s the “glow” effect?
It’s a super poseable mini-me of the OJR Iron Kong! I don’t know why I did it, but the last pic is a dancing Kong gif.
BEST LB EVER! Modeled after the ultra rare limited version of the OJR MK-II. A fraction of the size and an even bigger fraction of the cost! The armor on this one manages to be both pearly and metallic. Also, the standard build calls for a red eyepiece, and everything else clear green, which always seemed odd to me. Thankfully, they included an entire sprue of clear pieces in each color, so you can mix and match.
The OJR horn gets his own mini-me! This one looks better in person than in pics, even with the “banana” horn. The way the back piece is set up (symmetrical!), it should be pretty easy to make LB versions of some of the more popular ’Horn customs.
I imagine the name was supposed to be Raptojäger, which would make a lot more sense. The main problem with Neoblox is that they have no substance to their bodies. RJ here needs to eat a sandwich or two!
