2010-06-02: AdBlock, I thought we were bros

So I was checking my page (this one) to make sure everything looked ok, and like half my thumbnails were missing! After checking every obscure thing possible, I noticed that AdBlock was filtering out anything with “-120×90” in its name. I guess the thumbnail size I’ve been using forever is a new ad size?

SO, inter-net, I will make a deal with you. If you check “Disable on zoido.smeat.net” in AdBlock, I will never ever ever ever ever ever run ads on this site. As a bonus, you’ll get to see image thumbnails.

(Besides, I tried the google thing once and I made about 25 cents in three months.)

EZ-038 Elephander

I love everything about Elephander, except its size relative to other Zoids. The body’s about the size of a Redhorn—not too big. It does have a lot of nice movement and detail, and a ton of extra bits, so I guess I’ll just pretend it’s a 1/100 scale kit.

1–2: General
3–10: Assault mode
11–17: Command mode
18–24: Scout mode

GRZ-013 Gul Tiger GC

Words are coming, but for now here are some pics I took to test out my new lens.

Things to note (and eventually write out in a better fashion):

This took less than half the time to build as the OJR would have, since the entire motor/gearbox unit came pre-built. For a taste of what you’re missing, see WIKD’s review!
GC stands for Gyrocrafter and was originally sold separately as GU-05.
You can also attach GU-03 Eye Flasher to this, which I am hella going to try, ~~as soon as I find where I stashed that thing~~ RIGHT NOW.

2010-01-24: So many Zoids, so little lighting

I really do want to catch up on all the pics I need to take, but it’s been uniformly grey inside and out. I need to work on an indoor setup for sure, before I forget how to camera.

In other news, it’s about that time of year where I try to undo the ham-fisted panel lining job I gave Iron Kong Yeti so long ago. Since it was black, it’s historically taken about an hour to get one piece of armor halfway clean, before I give up. This was with either the Gundam Marker remover, or nail polish remover. THIS time, though, I found some model paint solvent, and that’s doing the trick. It’s down to ten minutes per piece. I should be done by 2025.

2009: Anime 10th Edition-02 Iron Kong

TakaraTomy commemorated the 10th anniversary of the anime by releasing more anime-accurate versions of Ban/Van’s Shield Liger, and this hella sweet Kong belonging to Schwarz/Schubaltz.

Making my own swap was not enough, once I saw the clear green motor and black inner frame. I also finally found a semi-good deal on ebay (although everytime someone buys one, the NEXT one he lists costs $10 more to ship).

2007-11: Berserk Poryzoid

I’m not sure if I ever finished this. The build’s done, but I’m really unhappy with the paintjob, because pink is the most difficult/uncooperative color to work with. I’m also unhappy with the fact that it has fallen off the shelf and broken SEVERAL times. Like it’s against the law to paint one of the king badasses of zoids in these colors.

ANYWAY, the story behind this one is that it’s an evolved form of the Poryzoid I made earlier. Because that’s what ~~pokemans~~ pokezoids do, right? The blade arm was inspired by this super limited CAS resin kit that I have no chance in hell of ever getting. Story-wise, maybe a Blade Liger got in the way and absorbed into the “evolving process” (which you can NOT watch on youtube). Gunbluster too, with those egg beater replacements!

I will try and take more pictures before the damn thing just explodes.
