A cute mini-me of Shieldy, now in Blox form! This was a birthday present from WIKD, much appreciated! As you can see, painting will be required for maximum coolness. There were some stickers meant to go over the fangs, but that doesn’t seem like as good as painting, so I’ll just hold out.
These little guys (and I mean LITTLE!) came in vending machines in Japan in the early 2000s. I was mainly interested in the mini versions of the original windups, so that’s mainly what I kept. A complete listing of all gashapons can be found over at Zoidspoison.
Geno Breaker, in mini form! I don’t normally get into the action figures Hasbro made, but I got this one accidentally, plus I’m on a Geno kick, so here he is. I actually like him better without all the extra equipment, and the head spear reminds me of a cockatiel. Pics 1–4 are right out of the package. Pics 5–8 are after a much needed touchup paint job. #9 is of the whole “family”!
King of Flexible Mobile/metal action/ka-dou-ou was a (tragically) short-lived 1/100 scale offshoot with die cast metal parts and super articulation.
Flexible hybrid cannons! I love my little mini tank-liger. I really need to get some pics of the regular KoFM liger, don’t I…
The OJR horn gets his own mini-me! This one looks better in person than in pics, even with the “banana” horn. The way the back piece is set up (symmetrical!), it should be pretty easy to make LB versions of some of the more popular ’Horn customs.
So I’m probably the last person on earth to post pics of this guy. I took most of these a month and a half ago, when my special lady was doing some tiny gardening. I also wanted to test the camera on my new pocket computer phone.
Quick review, because I’m, like, busy and stuff: Nice details (painted parts are done well), but a little fiddly.
Reissued by Wave, and nearly identical to the OJR, but much much cheaper (at least when it first came out). This one is near impossible to shoot, as you can tell. I’ll try to get the lighting up action sometime soon. Watch out for sunlight, as this one likes to turn yellow (GRRR).
