Distant Cousins of Zoids

Starriors

Starriors were released in 1984 in the US, after the first wave of (unnamed) Zoids came and went. They were robots, had windup weapons (either in their chest or right arm), and even had the little chrome pilot, but they weren’t Zoid-like in any other way.

Comics

Starriors had something that the US Zoids never had: a story line. The short version: Solar flares are destroying the earth, so the humans split the scene and build these robots to take care of things until it blows over. But then something goes wrong (of course)…

This story was told via the magic of comic books! There was a four issue miniseries put out by Marvel, as well as small comic books included with each toy.

Rammors

These little guys have pull-back motors, for the zooming around. Note that the toys’ colors are different from their comic book depictions. Also, I have discovered my Thinktank has the wrong accessory colors.

Trashors

These guys are tiny and cute, and have pull-back motors. They also have spring loaded claws, for the gripping of things.
